Luca Bizzotto is an entrepreneur and payments industry innovator who co-founded AltoPay (formerly Alto Global Processing) more than 15 years ago. Originally from northern Italy — where he still spends part of each year — Luca now resides in Miami, Florida, home to AltoPay’s global headquarters.

Luca launched AltoPay after identifying a significant gap in the payments landscape nearly two decades ago: established U.S. businesses expanding into Europe consistently faced challenges in setting up reliable, compliant payment infrastructures. To solve this, Luca built AltoPay as a bridge between U.S. merchants and European acquirers. Over time, the company evolved into a registered ISO with several European acquiring partners and expanded its services to support merchants across the U.S., Europe, and, more recently, Latin America.

A forward-thinking leader, Luca recognized early the value of advanced fraud-fighting technologies. In 2012, he forged a partnership with a then-start-up called Ethoca — now part of Mastercard — to provide AltoPay merchants with cutting-edge data and tools to reduce fraud and increase profitability. Soon after, he approached Verifi — a Visa company now commonly known for its RDR product — with a similar vision, making AltoPay the first to offer Verifi solutions to its merchant base. Today, more than a decade later, AltoPay is a leading global partner of both Ethoca and Verifi, supported by its own proprietary tech stack, methodologies, and a reputation for exceptional expertise.

Through Luca’s strategic vision and leadership, AltoPay has grown into a global leader in both ISO services and chargeback management. The company is now preparing for its next chapter under Luca’s leadership: becoming a fully licensed payment facilitator in 2026.
