Here are some highlights of AltoPay’s experience.

• Our company — originally branded as Alto Global Processing — was founded in 2010.
• Our global headquarters are in Miami USA. We have a European office in Haarlem Netherlands. We also have remote teams in Sofia, Warsaw, Des Moines (Iowa), Salt Lake City (Utah), and Los Angeles (California)
• We primarily focus on European, North American, and LATAM merchant acquiring.
• We have internal teams for underwriting, risk and transaction monitoring, and dispute management.
• AltoPay has developed a proprietary risk management platform and a chargeback management platform.
• Our team members come from other reputable payment companies including Ethoca, Midigator, Kount, Equifax, Chargebacks911, Processing.com, RYVYL, Nuvei, CatalystPay, eMerchantPay, Worldline, Paynetics, and TransactEurope.

What insights can you provide?

Our team is knowledgeable about all things payments. Every member of our leadership team has been in the payments industry for at least 15 years.

Here are a few topics we are especially knowledgeable about.

• Expanding to new regions – Our founders — Luca and Terry — are former ecommerce merchants with a business that was based in the U.S. After achieving success in the local market, they decided to expand to Europe. Our founders quickly realized that the process for obtaining and maintaining a merchant account in Europe was vastly different from the process they were accustomed to. Fortunately, they were able to master the region-specific nuances and grow their business as planned. Because they learned a lot along the way, Luca and Terry are well-equipped to share those insights with other merchants wanting to grow their business.
• Optimising payment processing – Payments are complex and confusing. Plus, the industry is constantly evolving and strategies are always changing. Our team stays current on trends and knows what it takes to be successful. We can help businesses with everything from building a cost-effective tech stack to improving authorization rates.
• Merchant account underwriting – The AltoPay underwriting team carefully reviews each merchant account application to determine a best-fit situation between merchants and acquirers. We understand what acquirers are looking for and how to effectively anticipate risk.
• Chargebacks and fraud – Nearly three decades ago, our team members were some of the first industry members to take on chargebacks. We’ve built technology and strategies that have stood the test of time. Our team has a detailed and unmatched understanding of chargeback rules, regulations, expectations, processes, and solutions.
• VAMP – The all-new Visa Acquirer Monitoring Program (VAMP) is revolutionizing the payments industry. Our team is in regular contact with the team at Visa to ensure we understand and can help others comply with program requirements.
